Hert’s Show

On Saturday Little Red, Mr. Little Red and Mom went to the Hertfordshire County Show, about 10 minutes from Harpenden. We parked the car on this big, grass farm field and walked to the show grounds. Mom has been to many country fairs back home in Ontario – Markham, Cambridge, Paris, Rockton. The Herts Show was by far the most interesting and unusual. Perhaps “unusual” because it was in a different country and showcased things that would be not so common to someone coming from Canada.
Little Red and Mr. Little Red showed that they have really adapted to life here. See?

In the basket making tent, a basket coffin. Inside was a sign that said “Basket making is a dying art.” How funny is that?

And finally there was lots and lots of great food. Besides the chocolate and banana crepe we shared while watching the Punch and Judy show, we had to try a meringue. Melt in your mouth! Then, chocolate fondue covered marshmallows and strawberries with white chocolate drizzled on top. We couldn’t t resist.
All in all it was a wonderful day. Not your typical touristy day.
